Sorry to bother you, but who owns the city?
Vere van Gool
Dear London is a set of trials and errors in the city addressing soil and sovereignty. Questions, blur and doubt presented to politicians, architects, developers and diplomats. Dear London is a project about the city, for as little and as much as I’m part of the city.
Breaking into embassies, arguing value with economists and politicising naivety as a technical strategy, somehow begin to resemble what happened to me on 20 June at the Honours presentation. It was an episode where I was lost in time, trembling with fear, trying to say something to those I respect deeply, avoiding stares from the crowd, and keeping up by repeating the glory of what I’ve learned at the AA: if you don’t agree with the rules, make your own.
Thank you to my tutor and all tutorials that helped shape this project.
