It’s M.Arch Jury Week which means 5 days of presentations as the culmination of 16 months of study. Each day will end with an evening keynote lecture by a member of the celebrated panel of critics invited by the graduate programme whose work is presented on the day. This week’s unmissable event is Thursday evening’s Design Research Laboratory (AADRL) keynote by Adam Davis, Chief Creative Officer and Partner at the TAIT Group, with a lecture titled: Live Event –The Intersection of Art, Engineering and Architecture. Here, Davis will expound on the large-scale spectacles he has been instrumental in creating, and how these events can serve as incubators for the invention and experimentation with new forms of technology.
Also this week are the other graduate programme’s keynote lectures starting with Housing & Urbanism on Monday who have invited Friedrich Ludewig to discuss Building without planning. Then on Tuesday, SED has invited Rab and Denise Bennetts of Bennetts Associates to talk about Mainstream Sustainable Architecture. On Wednesday, Wolf Mangelsdorf lectures on Form follows Data as the Emtech keynote, and finally on Friday, DRL hosts Dr. Elias Maria Knubben as their second keynote which is titled: The Bionic Learning Network: Learning from Nature.
