AA Conversations selects one unmissable event for you to attend this week
26 January 2015 Architectural Association, London   This week's highlight is Wednesday evening's roundtable discussion on The Culture of Performance bringing together Mike Davies, Piers Gough, Don Gray, Andrew Holmes, Ian Ritchie & Cristina Garcia to discuss the spatial choreography of large scale spectacles and the intersection between architecture, entertainment, engineering, media and performance. The event will also pay tribute to celebrated AA graduate, tutor and architect Mark Fisher who sadly passed away in June 2013 and will look at his time at the AA as well as the legacy he leaves behind. This lecture launches a scholarship set up in his name by James Fairorth and Tait Towers, who worked closely with Mark on ground-breaking music performance events around the world. The Mark Fisher Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student entering 4th year in the next academic year.   The rest of the week has several other exciting events scheduled starting with a PhD symposium this afternoon in the Lecture Hall, the launch of New Geographies 6 in the AA Bookshop on Tuesday evening, a panel discussion to celebrate the launch of the book The Quantified Home on Thursday evening, a Friday lunchtime lecture by Brett Steele on The Afterlife of Maison Dom-ino and the next instalment of Mark Cousins' Friday evening lectures on The Gesture titled The Expression of Emotion.   See the Events List to find out more or check the AA website to find out What’s On.
