TERM 3 WEEK 7 EDIT Edit
AA Conversations selects one unmissable event for you to attend this week
08 June 2015
Architectural Association, London
The beginning of the end is upon us as the first set of final tables are held this week. But should you have a few hours to spare on Saturday, the event to attend this week is a Night School workshop by Diploma 6 Unit Master Liam Young titled Telling Stories with Drones. Originally invented as military devices, drones are now more increasingly used as cinematic tools employed by photographers and designers to scan the earth from above and tell a new sort of narrative about the confluence between landscape and urbanity. In this workshop, Liam will discuss drone culture and the implications of the technology on the city as well as demonstrate the mechanics of drone construction, flight behaviour and aerial cinematography. The event is organised in collaboration with Archiboo - tickets to attend are £35 or £28 for AA Members.
Also this week is Part 2 of Reinventing the Ruler, the Night School workshop with Alex Kaiser on Monday at 7pm in 33 Bedford Square, which will look at the fabrication of bespoke drawing tools. The AA Film Club will also continue its Wednesday screenings in the AA Cinema - this week features Wild at Heart by David Lynch as part of the ongoing Running Series.
