TERM 2 WEEK 10 EDIT Edit
AA Conversations selects one unmissable event for you to attend this week
14 March 2016
Architectural Association, London
In the penultimate week of term, the event to attend is the symposium Constructing Frameworks: on Mind, Matter and Machines, organised by Theo Spyropoulos. The event will bring round the table experts from the fields of architecture, performance art, science and robotics including Stelarc, Lucy McRae, Gustav Metzger and Oron Catts, to discuss architecture as an expanded field and its capacity to appropriate, alter and assimilate ideas from other professions as it evolves towards the future. It promises to be a day filled with terrific presentations, stimulating discussions and a chance to meet some living legends - definitely not one to be missed!
Also this week is the book launch of Can Architecture be an Emancipatory Project?, which was edited by Nadir Lahiji on Thursday evening in the AA Bookshop. And also on Thursday is the Membership screening of the film Umbrellas as the final instalment of the trilogy of films screened this term on the work of Christo and Jeanne Claude in the AA Cinema at 7pm.
