AA Conversations selects one unmissable event for you to attend this week
18 May 2015 Architectural Association, London   The final instalment of the AA Collections Talks is on Tuesday evening this week with a lecture by PhD candidate Patrick Zamarian who is looking at the AA during the post-war years as the topic for his thesis at the University of Liverpool. Titled Moth-Eaten Old Students and Noisy Little Schoolboys – The AA in the Postwar Era, the talk promises to be an exciting account of the school as it returns from its rural war-time exile to Bedford Square and begins to evolve into the institution as we know it today. The lecture will start at 6.30pm in the AA Lecture Hall with a drinks reception to follow while perusing related archival material from the AA Library, Archives and Photo Library. This year the Collections Talks sit within the programme for AA XX 100, the platform celebrating a centenary of women at the AA.   Also this week is the book launch of Liquid Power by Erik Swyngedouw on Monday evening and the launch of Nightwalking by Matthew Beaumont on Wednesday evening. Both events start at 6.30pm in the AA Bookshop. The Night School Strelka Press Book Club begins on Tuesday evening in the AA Bookshop at 7pm with Dark Matter and Trojan Horses by Dan Hill, and there is a Membership screening of Sand Wars in the AA Cinema on Thursday evening at 6.30pm.   See the Events List to find out more or check the AA website to find out What’s On.
